This summer, I returned to online teaching for Stetson with CSCI 111Q Intro to Computing. This course uses Processing to introduce fundamental programming concepts and is required of all Digital Arts majors at Stetson. I enjoyed the opportunity to review these concepts myself and get my feet wet with Processing, which I now find to […]

This year during Stetson’s spring break, I was happy to have the opportunity to return to Bergen. Although it was a special treat to return to Norway, the trip’s purpose was to participate in another Jamoma developers workshop. During our 6 days working at BEK, we resolved a number of issues that will get us […]

I recently completed a blog post that details how it works and the benefits this new system provides to our workflow. Please head over to the Jamoma blog and read […]

In early June, I traveled to Albi France for a Jamoma developers workshop hosted by GMEA. It was certainly good to see old friends and make new ones while we discussed future plans for the project, worked intensely on the code and learned about how each other is applying it to creative work. There are many well known examples: Max Mathews & MUSIC, Barry Vercoe & Csound, Miller Puckette & Max/PD, Tom Erbe & SoundHack. Although my own contributions have not had nearly the impact of these […]

Now that Cycling’74 is focussing attention on Max for Live, they have made the decision to discontinue all of their other Pluggo-based products including Hipno. You can read the announcement from David Zicarelli here. Tim Place posted some brief comments on his blog as well. Hipno had a really good run for almost 4 years. […]

By far the most popular download on this website. This set of externals and abstractions developed using several granular synthesis concepts. Effects available in this download include pitch shifting, spatializing, “clouds”, chord production and looping. A paper about this software that was presented at the SEAMUS 2002 National Conference at the University of Iowa. Later, […]

This object implements the same reverb algorithm found in my Griesinger VST plug-in. It is a pretty good stereo reverb at a low CPU load. It currently allows the user to change the decay time and not much else. More parameters (like those in the plug-in) will be available in future versions. Available for Max/MSP […]
